Satellite Launches
- LAUNCH SUCCESS 6th Starlink 4-5 : The next batch of 49 Starlink satellites will launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida at 21:49 GMT.
- LAUNCH FAILURE 9th “Start Me Up” : 9 small satellites launch aboard a Virgin Orbit LauncherOne rocket, which drops from a modified Boeing 747 carrier jet. It is the first orbital launch from the UK, launching from Spaceport Cornwall, Newquay.
- LAUNCH SUCCESS 13th Transporter 3 : The Transporter 3 mission launches aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida at 15:25 GMT. It will carry a number of microsatellites and nanosatellites for both commercial and government customers. Delayed from September and December.
- LAUNCH SUCCESS 13th Above the Clouds : A Virgin Orbit LauncherOne rocket will drop from a modified Boeing 747 carrier jet named Cosmic Girl. It will then launch some small satellites as part of the Space Test Program for the U.S. military, along with small satellites for Spire and Polish company SatRevolution. It will launch from Mojave Air and Space Port, California at 22:53 GMT. Delayed from December 2021.
- LAUNCH SUCCESS 19th Starlink 4-6 : The next batch of 49 Starlink satellites will be launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida at 02:02 GMT. Delayed from January 17th.
- LAUNCH SUCCESS 21st USSF 8 (GSSAP 5 & 6) : The USSF 8 mission will launch for the U.S. Space Force‘s Geosynchronous Space Situational Awareness Program (GSSAP). It contains the 5th and 6th satellites for the program, which will launch aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida at 19:00 GMT. Delayed from late 2020, March, August and September.
- LAUNCH SUCCESS 31st CSG 2 : The second COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation (CSG 2) launches aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida at 23:11 GMT. It was built by Thales Alenia Space for ASI. Delayed from November 18th and December 14th.
