Not sure which planetarium shows to pick?

Are you wondering which planetarium shows are right for you? Here’s a quick rundown!

Stellar Safari and Planet Explorer are hour-long presentations from our resident presenter, Chloe. They are family friendly, beginner level presentations that can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Be prepared for a little audience interaction! These shows are best suited to people with young children.

Film Club is a show of two halves, totalling an hour. First, our resident presenter, Chloe, will take you on a tour of Woking’s night sky for the month ahead. Then, you’ll enjoy an immersive full dome film from our library. This show is aimed at a more general audience, and age ratings vary depending on the film. No audience interaction in this show either! Film Club is best suited to adults and children (6+) who want to learn more about space or see the stars for themselves, though no prior knowledge is needed.

The Starlight Odyssey Sessions are shows hosted by guest presenter and former science teacher Laurence Anslow FRAS. They last for 2 hours and include in depth presentations outside the planetarium in our activity space and a planetarium session with our resident presenter, Chloe. While more complicated topics may be explored, they are explained for a beginner level audience. Audience discussion and questions are welcomed! This show is aimed at adults with a interest in astronomy, though children aged 9+ are welcome. It is best enjoyed by attending every month, and is a fantastic resource for students looking to study physics and astronomy. The Starlight Odyssey Sessions run from October to June only.

Holiday Shows are one off planetarium shows that occur in school holidays. Usually, they consist of a full dome film such as Dinosaurs at Dusk or Zula Patrol. These shows are aimed at children and last about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the length of the film. Age ratings vary.
